In the early 70s I was listening to and playing a lot of rock songs. One of my favorite bands my brother turned me on to was Humble Pie. I covered a few of their songs and thought at the time Peter Frampton was the best of the best. I was also a big Joe Walsh fan too! Both played Les Pauls. For me the SG had a much sweeter neck but sustain from a Les Paul was killer. While the Les Paul was heavier than the SG I really enjoyed playing it and the black was striking.
I graduated from High School in 1975. I planned on going to college and had few dollars in savings. However it was not nearly enough to pay for college. Sold I sold my car, the Les Paul and my Fender Concert amp. It was a very strange feeling not owning any gear. I wish I never sold this guitar.
