Around 2001 I started playing more than just Blues music and needed an amp that had a wider tone range than my 57 Tweed Deluxe. Sounds crazy as I’m typing this but I sold my 57 Tweed and bought a Hot Rod Deluxe. It was a great amp and I could get just about any sound I wanted out of it. Probably one of the biggest things was the addition of a master volume. The 57 Tweed Deluxe didn’t have a master so when you cranked it you would always start breaking up. With the Hot Rod Deluxe I had more control.
